Depois de ter falado com várias firmas de moto, inclusive com o importador da BMW em Lima, TODOS disseram que não iríamos encontrar ninguem que fizesse o balanceamento. Nosso amigo Guillermo encontrou uma firma,( Tator Racing, Sr.Oscar Palacios, Colina 460, Miraflores, Tel 447 9718) que poderia fazer, porém não para motos grandes como as nossas. Resolvemos visitá-lo e o Gildo fez um gatilho (como sempre) e shazam... balanceou as rodas. Estavam MUITO desbalanceadas e a minha levou 7 chumbos. Enquanto balanceavamos, conhecemos Ivan Guerreiro que é um motociclista aficionado e participante do site da Horizons Unlimited (melhor site de viagens de moto

Imaginem a coincidência, Ivan é o representante da firma Maersk Sealand (uma das maiores armadoras de carga maritima perecivel do mundo) e conhece todo mundo nos USA do meu ramo (pra quem não sabe, vendo frutas, mais precisamente, Papaya do Brasil: www.calimanpapaya.com) Como Ivan conhece tudo de fruta, de Moto e dos caminhos do Peru, não poderiamos deixar de almoçarmos juntos. Fomos comer Ceviche, em um restaurante muito bom, chamado Isla Escondida. Agora fiquei fã de Ceviche, desde que experimentei a primeira vez na Costa Rica.
Como as motos chamam muita atenção, varias pessoas param e conversam conosco. É muito legal ver como todos querem ajudar. Sendo assim conhecemos tambem o Ramiro, que pilota moto, e nos deu varias dicas de hotel em Cuzco e em Nazca. Alias uma das melhores coisas da viagem,é ver a solidariedade das pessoas.
Enfim, foi um dia muito produtivo. Estamos prontos para finalmente por o pé na estrada e conhecer as famosas linhas de Nazca.

Yesterday we asked lots of companies and people where we could balance the front wheel of our bikes. Everyone, including the BMW representative, told us that NO ONE would have the tool necessary to do it. Our friend Guillermo, very persistent, discovered a company ( Tator Racing, Mr. Oscar Palacios, Located at Colima 460, Miraflores, Phone, 447 9718) who said they do it, but not for big bikes like ours. Gildo and I decided to visit them and inspect WHY they could not do it. Because Gildo is an excellent mechanic, he found a way to improvise and bingo! the wheels were fixed. So if you are in Peru and need to balance your front wheel, call Oscar.

While we were waiting, we met Ivan Guerreiro, a proud owner of a KTM 950, which knows all the important roads from Peru. Ivan is also a representative of the Horizons Unlimited community (best site for motorcycle travel ( www.horizonsunlimited.com)and guess what: He is the representative of Maersk Sealand, the bigger specialist for reefer containers , and whom we use to transport our fruits from Brazil to Europe and USA.(My business is to sell fruits, more specific papayas ( www.calimanpapaya.com). So, with so many interest in common, we had to have lunch together, so Ivan took us to a wonderful restaurant where we ate Ceviche, our preferred food in Peru, which I became a big fan, after having tasted it in Costa Rica.
Because large BMWs are rare in these countries, it draws lots of curiosity, and people stop and start talking to us. That’s how we also met today, Ramiro, who was very helpful in indicating us some hotels in Cuzco and Nazca. Ramiro is also a biker. One of the nicest things in the whole trip is to see how people are always willing to help us.
It was a very productive day: Bikes are clean and ready to hit the road tomorrow, riding to see the famous Nazca lines, in the desert.
